Is a Pinterest Account Manager a Good Career?
So maybe you’ve thought of working from home in Pinterest Management Services as a Pinterest manager or maybe you’d like to take your Pinterest management services to the next level. Well, that’s great!
Let me share some business startup statistics with you.
Of all small businesses started in 2014:
- 80% made it to the 2nd year (2015);
- 70% made it to the 3rd year (2016);
- 62% made it to the 4th year (2017);
- 56% made it to the 5th year (2018).
What these numbers tell you is that 44% of businesses failed after their fifth year. Here are 10 reasons why they flop:
- No market need: 42%
- Ran out of cash: 29%
- Not the right team: 23%
- Too much competition: 19%
- Pricing / Cost issues: 18%
- User un-friendly products: 17%
- Product without a business model: 17%
- Poor marketing: 14%
- Ignore customers: 14%
- Product mistimed: 13%
These reasons definitely make sense especially when it comes to running out of cash. You can have a great product or a service but if you run out of money to market your business then how do you expect people to find you?
Do You Really Know What Your Good At…or What You Suck At?
What this stat doesn’t reveal is how business owners fail to take the time to research or determine other factors before they start a business. For example; self-knowledge. How many of you have taken the time to make a list of your strengths and weaknesses? That’s important to know when you’re developing a team because you want people to complement you and round out skills you may not have.
Don’t Just Do It For The Money
As you can see above 23% of people say they failed because they didn’t have the right team in place. Well, part of that team is you. For example, if you failed to recognize that you suck at blogging and your client requires content marketing you will need to hire a blogger. If you make an attempt to do it on your own without any help or you’re thinking “what the heck I’ll just write it” because you want the deal, DON’T. If you don’t love what you do, it will show in your work. Plus it’s absolutely not fair to the client to not get what she’s paying you for.
How to Have a Successful Career In Pinterest Management
If you’ve never invested in learning about who you are, your skills and passions then how can you effectively market your business? Well, you can’t. If you want to discover your talents and natural abilities I highly recommend that you get the book StrengthsFinder 2.0. It’s going to be a real eye-opener for you and you’ll quickly learn to forget about fixing your weaknesses, but rather develop the strengths and talents you already have. This is the first step to becoming a great Pinterest Manager. Let’s move on to my second tip.
2. Take a course
I offer a course on Pinterest Management Services called How to Become a Pinterest Account Manager. As a matter of fact I was the very first Pinterest Expert who came out with a course!
In my sales pitch page, I mention that the course is designed for those who already know Pinterest inside and out. What I mean by that is, for example, if you don’t know where (there are six places) to inject the right keywords in Pinterest then you must learn how to use Pinterest marketing for business before you can manage an account for someone else.
I know for a fact that at least 90% of the students that have purchased the How to Become a Pinterest Account Manager course do not know Pinterest inside and out. How do I know? I offer 3-month email support to my students. I can tell from their questions if they know Pinterest inside and out or not. What this tells me is that people want to make a quick buck. They don’t want to spend the money to learn how to use Pinterest correctly because they’d rather just wing it. Or they seriously think they know how to use Pinterest for business, but the truth is they don’t.
How many courses do you take a year? If you don’t take courses what’s your plan for growing your mind? What’s your plan for improving your skill? If you want to earn more, you’ve got to learn more.
3. Reach out to a mentor
Successful Pinterest managers reach out to mentors throughout their career. A great mentor isn’t just someone who’ll teach you about Pinterest marketing for business but they can also help you with a range of concerns and issues that comes with being a business owner.
I highly recommend that you work with mentors who are different from you because they can provide a fresh perspective. It’s also a good balance.
4. Choose your company
They say birds of a feather flock together. Another one is if you scratch with the turkeys you can’t fly with the eagles? The company you keep has a major impact on your success and self-concept. As they say “you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with”.
Where do you find peers to challenge you and help you grow? If no one challenges you how do you expect to be great? What are you doing day in and day out to achieve greatness? Or are you simply okay with being mediocre as a Pinterest Manager?
I want you to make a decision in the next 24 hours about who’s going to help you become successful as a Pinterest Manager. Work with someone who can offer you real value. Work with individuals who’s been in business for years. Work with people who have done what you want to do. Work with people who have been you want to be right now or in the future.
Summary
At the end of the day, you have to define what success means to you. Success means different things to different people.
You are 100% responsible for your business. What you do every day counts. No one achieves success alone, so what are you going to do about it? Remember folks, no one achieves success alone.
